This issue of Archeomatica serves as a reflection on a decade of exploration, spanning from 2014 to 2025. It is a journey through the “palimpsest” of human history, centered primarily in ancient Asia Minor—where architecture is not viewed as a static monument, but as a living phenomenon.
At the heart of this collection is the belief that reading the built environment is a complex operation. It requires more than just technical precision; it demands rigorous preparation, interdisciplinary skills, and a refined intuition to interpret the resonance of intentions and events that have shaped these places over centuries.
Through this collection and workshop outcomes, we invite you to explore how modern surveying practices and contemporary technologies can become tools for abstraction, comprehension ultimately embedding the lessons of the past into the future experience of the architect.
